Mijin Kim

Mijin Kim was born in South Korea in 1993 and now lives and works in Cologne. Here she received her bachelor’s degree at the Centre for Contemporary Dance (ZZT) at the Hochschule für Music and Dance. Since graduating, Mijin has collaborated with Overhead Project for the third production and danced in projects by Emanuel Gat, and Michael Löhr, Shumpei Nemoto, Dwayne Holliday and Kazue Ikeda. As co-founder of the Cologne-based dance collective TachoTinta, she conceives and choreographs her own pieces, which have been invited to several festivals in South Korea and Germany. With the works “Re:Moment” and “Entre#2: A Second Deal”, her collective received the Flausen scholarship “Young Artists in Residency” at Theater Wrede+ in Oldenburg in 2019 and further co-productions with Flausen+ Theaternetzwerk and Ringlokschuppen Ruhr in 2020, among others.
